Working Together

Every relationship begins with a conversation.

Before we decide whether to work together, we’ll have a short call about what is happening, what you need, and where you are in the process. Sometimes people know exactly what they’re looking for. Often they don’t. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you call.

Who I Serve

  • Individuals with a terminal diagnosis who want support preparing for the end of life.
  • Families accompanying someone who is dying, as well as people learning to live after a death.
  • Individuals who have chosen Medical Aid in Dying and want doula support as they prepare for and approach the day of ingestion.

End-of-Life Planning

Support may include advance directives, legacy projects, wishes for the final days and hours — including music, lighting, visitors, and the feeling of the room — and funeral or memorial planning.

Medical Aid in Dying Support

Preparation and day-of support for individuals choosing Medical Aid in Dying and the people who love them. This may include coordination with hospice and mortuary providers, bedside presence, after-death care such as body shrouding when desired, and support for family members before and after the death.

Grief Coaching

Individual and group support before and after a loss, including anticipatory grief and grief following a medically assisted death. The emphasis is not on “getting over” grief, but on finding ways to live with what has changed.

Note: Watching with Presence provides non-medical end-of-life and grief support. Doula services complement — and do not replace — medical or hospice care, mental-health care, legal advice, or other licensed professional services.
